Apple crumble

Yesterday I had my goodbye party with friends in Newcastle.I had made an apple crumble and my friends asked for the recipe,so I thought it should be my first article! (i have included some pictures to help you with the process!!)

You need:

1 cup of oil (my 1 cup equals to 2/3 of an English mug)

1 egg

3 cups of sugar

5 apples

5 cups of plain flour

2 spoonfulls of cinnamon (tea spoons)

a pinch of clove

2 spoonfulls of baking powder (tea spoons)

For the crumble

Add the oil, egg, 2 cups of sugar and mix them. Add 5 cups of flour and the baking powder and mix them, until the mixture looks like crumbs and small balls.

For the filling

Peel the apples and grate them. Add 1 cup of sugar, cinnamon, clove and mix. It's ok,if it gets juicy.

In the oven dish!

Oil the oven dish. Lay half of the crumble on the bottom, then the filling and then the rest of the crumble.

Bake it in pre-heated oven for 45 minutes.

Once the crumble is ready and out of the oven, you can add some cinnamon or caster sugar on the top.
